We always take Easter as our cue to wrap up the screening of our arthouse film programme. SFS sees the oncoming longer brighter days as an opportunity for a break and embrace the outdoors. Before we sign off we want to leave you with the results of our Audience reaction scores from a bumper season of films.
Audience reaction:
After each screening we invite audiences to rate the film – Excellent, Very Good, Good, Fair, Poor – this season was a packed one with 16 screenings and the competition for which film came out on top with Sligo audiences was fierce! The season started with Finnish black comedy Fallen Leaves and came to a close last Thursday with Wim Wenders’ Perfect Days. In between, there were buzzy, award-friendly films like Anatomy of a Fall, Poor Things and The Zone of Interest and we hosted 3 events as part of the Dublin International Film Festival Tour in partnership with Access Cinema. All in all we couldn’t have asked for more varied, eclectic and quality driven programme of films. In the end it was The Taste of Things, a culinary and romantic delight on screen which delighted our audiences.
The top three films are:
1. The Taste of Things
2. The Old Oak
3. The Promised Land and If Only I Could Hibernate
