A representation of Sligo Film Society committee members recently attended VIEWING:SESSIONS in Portlaoise at Dunamaise Arts Centre and ODEON Cinema on Friday 6 and Saturday 7 of October.
Organised by access>CINEMA, VIEWING:SESSIONS is an industry event for programmers, screening organisers, audience developers, education officers or marketeers for independent cinemas, mixed arts venues, film societies and film festivals. It is an opportunity to preview the best of upcoming international and Irish cinema.
A very popular event across the Access Cinema network, of which SFS is a member, it has always been a highlight for our committee. It’s been a long 3 years since the last VIEWING:SESSIONS outing in Belfast, and four of our committee membership made the journey to Portlaoise.
There they got to experience an incredible packed two days of film previews and networking opportunities, with 16 new and unreleased film titles screened.
Unfortunately we cannot divulge what those were, but suffice to say we will be including a couple of the films seen in Portlaoise into the next half of our Autumn programme.
