Synopsis
70-year-old Mahin has lived as a widow in Tehran for over 30 years. She fondly remembers life in Iran before the Islamic Revolution, but now she cannot even visit her Europe-based daughter, because she is considered too old to be granted a visa by authorities. Refusing to accept a lonely future, Mahin takes matters into her own hands when she meets taxi-driver Faramarz. Throwing caution to the wind, an unforgettable and unpredictable evening unfolds for the pair.
My Favourite Cake is a moving reflection on old age, loneliness and finding unexpected love.
Both humorous and poignant at turns, and featuring a wonderful performance by Lily Farhadpour as Mahin, it is sure to charm and touch audiences.
