Synopsis
After leaving her son in a Busan church’s “baby box”, young mother So-young has a change of heart. But her child has already been taken by a couple of makeshift “brokers” – Sang-hyun and Dong-soo – who try to sell babies to wealthy couples for money, and are also unknowingly under surveillance by two detectives. When So-young confronts the brokers, things take an unexpected turn, and she joins them on a road-trip to find the most suitable adoptive parents for her son.
Palme d’Or winner Hirokazu Kore-eda (Shoplifters) returns with another exquisite drama exploring the meaning of family, this time set in Korea. Featuring a wonderful cast led by Parasite’s Song Kang-ho, Broker is charming, funny and bittersweet.
